Don't forget to stay after the credits!!! - Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End Reviews

Let's cut to the chase. I have never been a fan of any movie until the 3rd pirates film came out. It's that good. This movie was so filled with goodies that I'm going to see it for the 2nd time this weekend. The good things: -beautiful sets and scenes -creative ideas with Depp's character and set locations -action packed -great cinematography -breathtaking special effects -romance! -fantastic original music -humor! -colorful cast -great costumes ...tons of other great things this movie is packed with. Things that could be improved on: -time and film duration; those 167 minutes go by fast despite sitting for a while -plot is not streamlined; the producers let us "connect the dots" to draw our own conclusions- it really helps if you watch Pirates 1 & 2 beforehand -PG 13 rating on the line; the first 10 minutes can be scary for some young children So is Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End worth watching? Heck yes! POTC 3 is AWEsome(couldn't help myself). If you enjoyed POTC 1 or 2 you won't be disappointed in this one. The producers really deliver. DON'T FORGET TO STAY AFTER THE CREDITS!!! There's an extra scene you may not want to miss... those who didn't see the epilogue were not so satisfied...

Pirates 3: definitely at world's end - Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End Reviews

Okay so I just watched dead man's chest yesterday to refresh my memory and watched the 3rd installment tonight. I was very disappointed because this 3rd installment was just too long, too boring and had scenes that weren't needed in there. Johnny Depp was amazing as usual. I'm a girl so I love him as 99% of the women on earth do as well. The only problem was, YOU DO GET TIRED OF HIM TOO. The same people again and again 80% of the time in the movie.. who wouldn't get tired?? You'd only see the new faces such as the singaporean pirate and madame chinese something for like 10% of the movie and the rest was Davey Jones. There were soooooooo many plots that were empty. SPOILERS SO PLEASE IF YOU HAVE NOT WATCHED IT DO NOT READ THIS ONE 1) Calypso - When they released her, what's the point when she did nothing but became thousands of crabs and made an ocean whirlwind?? 2) Asking for help from the other pirates, when they did nothing during the battle itself?? 3) The captain just watching his ARMADA fail, when he could've just said 'FIRE' easily and both the dutchman and pearl would've been blown to pieces! Overall, the graphics were awesome, the story was good, the acting was awesome.. however MR DIRECTOR DID NOT DELIVER IT PROPERLY AND DID NOT DO HIS JOB AS WELL AS HE SHOULD'VE!!! OH AND HOW CHEESY THAT THEY GOT PIRATES 4 for an elixir of life... oh great!! more servings of elizabeth johnny and the like... my eyes are honestly sick of their faces. They should get new faces new leads new stories.. this is just getting toooooooooooooooo boring and old!

Is this a disney movie? - Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End Reviews

I think John Carpenter had a difinite hand in this one. This movie had zero direction and was 2 hours a 40 minutes of aimless acting, violence and confusion. What happened here? What happened to Happily Ever After?

Someone who really saw the movie in japan allready - Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End Reviews

Not sure how all these ratings get out there ?!? on 24th when the movie supposed to be released in the evening of 24th and right now it is 23:53 in JAPAN. Arrrr, I actually just got back from the movie and have to say that it is well worth the money, that is for sure. Jack sparrow is still funny, Elizabeth still brave and cute, William still gets torchered and survives. Story is a little confusing with the old characters, especially David Jones character appeals to pitty more then to "The Bad Guy". Visuals are extremely well done, the monkey allmost not be thought aniamted in some parts of the movie. Ending leaves an enigma to me, little dissapointed, I had it expected a little more at "Worlds End". Time flew by, so it keept me focused and belive me, that means something. All in all a very entertaining movie. Arrr, so what are you waiting for, get out there and raise the blade.

This movie was a scam - Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End Reviews

Trying to be awake the whole movie is a challenge, do yourself a favor and skip this movie, no direction, no story, complete mix up of lousy ideas, at least the nachos were good!

Terrible movie - Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End Reviews

I can't believe so many rate this movie as good. They obviously like being tormented for 3 hours. The story was non-existent, the acting (Johnny Depp) horrible, and the ending disappointing. The only highlights were the visuals during the sailing shots. That is not, however, reason enough to sit for 3 hours to see this film. It was quite possibly the worst movie I have ever paid to see. SAVE YOUR MONEY AND STAY AWAY FROM POTC 3!

Waste of time - Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End Reviews

usually out of a three hour movie you would expect a good plot with some twists and a solid ending to wrap it up. Not the case here. In Pirates 3, there are so many twists, so many odd scenes ans so few scenes of worth that it was very difficult to understand and follow the movie let a lone enjoy it. Although acting was good and the visuals looked great, not much can make up for a poor cinematic experience that leaves the viewers in confusion and frustration.

D - for dumb humor - Wedding Crashers Reviews

I am simply let down everytime I get talked into going to an american made comedy. Who's rating these comedy movies... post pubescent boys and girls? I guess if you think bare breasted women, stupid cliches' and just plain dumb writing is funny... more power to you. I'll stick to the foreign comedies, until Hollywood can produce something more funny than this type of garbage.

I walked out - Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End Reviews

After 2 hours I couldnt take it anymore. I dont know why I went. The second one was no good but unbelievably it was better than this piece of trash. What is it with the summer blockbusters this year?. They all suck. Someone, make a good movie please.

Three hour bore-fest - Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End Reviews

Big budget movie meant to make money but give nothing back in return. The movie is so hard to follow and after a while, who cares? The monkey in the film gives a better performance than Johnny Depp. The monkey mugs less for the camera than Johnny. Bad acting, bad script, very long, uninteresting movie that relies too heavily on special effects. Not worth the money.

A little too long and a little too complicated - Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End Reviews

In the beginning, the movie seems promising. But the writers brought in too many characters too quickly who created alliances with one another in the hopes of backstabbing another, and then they all changed their minds. Its as confusing as it sounds. The story was confusing, and loose ends never seemed to be tied up. The visuals, were decent and probably one of the few highlights of the movie. Honestly, 2 hours and 45 minutes is just to lengthy and drawn out for the plot. Had it been condensed and cut down, maybe it could have done better. Brevity might have been able to do the trick. Out of the 3 movies this is the lesser of them all, still mediocre but not great.

Half boring, half super spectacular - Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End Reviews

He he, we Germans sometimes can watch movies in theatres earlier than you Americans. So i watched "At wold`s end" yesterday and i got tired after a time, but hopefully a cup of coffee hold me awake. 1. Too much of talking. Sometimes it is nice that there are long dialogues, so nobody can say that this movie is just bombed with effects and don't have a storyline. But this movie contains too much of talking stuffs, to many topics, to many characters. I was bored after a time. 2. But the final fight at the end, approx. last 40 minutes was like sitting in a rollercoaster in Disneyland. The battle was dark and rainy, but i haven't seen such a perfect battle before. The effects were so great that you would never think of having special effects there. 3. Johnny Depp was great like usual. This time, the Oscar will be his own.

Extremely dissapointing - Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End Reviews

I went to the theater dressed up as a pirate! I wanted to hide after watching this horrific film. I loved the first, liked the second, hated the third. I was anxious and bored waiting for something exciting to happen. It seemed as if they ran out of ideas. Some of the fighting scenes were not possible. The ship twisting in a whirlpool while a storm and they can sword fight on top of a slippery mast. Doubtful. Not worth the money or waste of almost 3 hours.

Wow wow wee waa - Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End Reviews

I actually like this Pirates. The Second one didnt make it for me, and the First one was obviously amazing, but the third one wasnt so bad. I thought it i was gonna be as disappointing as Pirates 2 but i was quite wrong. Anyway if ur looking for a good time at the theaters i would very much recommend this movie

Long awaited potc 3 turns out to be disappointing - Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End Reviews

I have been a huge fan of Pirates of the Caribbean since I saw the first one in theaters with my brother. The first one was full of love, adventure, (great) comediac timing, and action packed. The second one had a little less entertainment but still a very great movie. The third one just disappointed the crap out of me to say the least. Especially the ending. To find out the fate Will Turner and Elizabeth, where we leave off with Mr. Gibbs and Jack Sparrow, and where was the adventure, the comedy.... This movie (in my own opinion) feels like the Writers were so build up with confidence over the first two that they just through this piece of CRAP together for us to go and spend $9.00 to see. How pathetic. Yeah sure, there were its moments of few humor but all in all i am devastated that this movie even is in theaters. they should have really taken their time on this one and waited another year. I would have loved to wait, if i knew that a better movie was going to be made. And what the heck was with Keith Richards??? OMG stay away from the big screen!!!!!!!!!!! If they make a fourth POTC, which I highly doubt... you won't find me there. Sincerely, a very disappointed fan.

Do not see p3 - Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End Reviews

I wish I could have gotten my money back. P1 was soooo good and P2 was bad. So I was thinking P3 have to be good. NO NO NO. The action was good, but what was up with the crabs? What did the writers run out of ideas and said, lets fill the extra time with a giant women who turns into crabs. My little brother could have given them better ideas. They could have used old sailor stories why not use more sea monsters, mermaids, or anything. Hey Disney if you need some ideas just give me a call

Piece of crap!!! - Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End Reviews

I liked the 1st and 2nd movie better than this one. How the movie ended made you wonder if it's really the end. Don't waste your money on this one.

A not so grand finale - Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End Reviews

When seeing Pirates of the Caribbean, two questions come to mind: "What's going on?" and "Is it over, yet?". Overall, this was a dragged out snooze fest with too many confusing subplots. The acting was poor on everyone's part, and the events that were just plain unbelievable. Keira Knightley and Orlando Bloom fell flat, and their character's personality failed to show through. In terms of exposure, I think that viewers will see too much of Keira Knightley, and even less of the constantly absent Orlando. Overall, this movie was a complete flop and I am shocked that Jerry Bruckheimer had not seen such flaws in this movie, such as: poor acting, length and events. I was just not impressed.

Pirates but a little too off for me. - Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End Reviews

I wasn't expecting the 3rd installment of pirates to end this way, you know when something seems so different that you question if it was ever there to begin with? That's the feeling I had from watching 3, I've never seen a Pirates Installment with such dead space, there were these periods of nothingness and I question why they were there to begin with. There were just too many story lines for my one-track mind and the characters themselves seemed somewhat out of character. The stark contrast of this darker 3 caught my by surprise because the first movies were more sunny and fun. I had no idea why or how all of these complications came across and I don't get why it had to go wrong.

Yo ho ho and a crock of ___ - Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End Reviews

Wow. This is one of the first movies that I attended on opening day in a long time. The billing was exciting. Previews were dramatic. Unfortunately, the movie was expected to be the best of the trilogy. In my opinion it was by far the worst. The special effects were spectacular as expected. The acting and the actors were spectacular. The story really sucked bad. It was all over the place, and had no sense of conclusion as was promised! Instead we are left with the distinct possibility of Pirates Carib #4. Boooooooo! I got the distinct impression that Disney is waiting to see if they can make a #4 off of the revenues from this franchise. It's A Pirates life for Disney. Take what you can when you can. Don"t bother with #4. The thrid sucked so bad there is no more booty to gain. Good Luck! Wait for DVD release in the rental store. This movie blows.

Much better than i expected it to be - Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End Reviews

this is the kind of movie that made my day. i liked it much more than the last one, but boy was it long as hell. it was almost like a lotr movie. but there is plenty to enjoy in this movie. the visuals are great, the acting is pretty adequate, and the story is better than the last one. it pretty much keeps you entertained the whole 2-3 hours it runs. just make sure to bring lots of food, and dont leave the movie theater, cause every minute of that movie counts, and u dont wanna miss on minute. so enjoy.....dont take my word for it....go watch it!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Turkey of the year - Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End Reviews

2 hours 30 mins of bad story, no direction, bad pacing, lies, deception, bad characters and all you get is 15 mins of action at the very end??????????????????????? I will pass! First one was great! Second is slowly going down the hill, but still has great moments. This one is seriously a horrible way to end the series, with no more creativity left in any of the movie. TURKEY!!!

Not one person applauded at the end!!! - Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End Reviews

My daughter and I went to see Pirates 3 on the first Friday after opening at 10:00 PM. The theater was very full, but NOT sold-out, which was my first hint of a problem. We actually came to the theater to see another movie, but finding the theater for Pirates only 1/3 full a mere twenty minutes before showing, we went to Pirates instead. By the time the movie started, the theater was fairly full, and in spite of this, the most telling thing I can share with you is this: at the end of the movie not one... NOT ONE PERSON... in the entire theater clapped. No applause at all. This, to me, said it all. I originally wrote a long review, but I think most of what I have to say can be found in other reviews, so I'll keep it short and simple: ? I was disappointed. The film fell flat. I felt let-down at the end. ? The plot was confusing, convoluted, often difficult to follow and frequently explained itself long after you stopped caring. ? I didn't care about or relate to any of the characters. We've come to expect Jack Sparrow to switch allegiances and loyalties to suit his immediate needs, but when everyone in the film does it, it caused confusion. I didn't know who to root for which left me feeling like I was missing out on something. ? After all the build-up, Calypso and the Pirate Lords ended up having a minor affect, if any, on the climax (I was disappointed with Calypso's ultimate role.) ? Not much fun. It was not as light-hearted, whimsical and FUN as the first Pirates. I was too busy trying to wade through the complicated plot, mish-mash of myths, and trying to figure out where each character's loyalties and motivations were at that particular moment to have fun. I seriously think I laughed out loud only a couple of times along with a few half-hearted chuckles (the entire theater audience was awful quiet through most of the film.) ? There were too many Jack Sparrows and not enough JACK SPARROW. In the first film, it was clear that Depp created and added depth and dimension to the character Jack Sparrow, but in this film, it is apparent that the writers took over ownership of Jack Sparrow and suffocated him in the process. ? Too much of Elizabeth Swann especially since the writers failed to make me care about Elizabeth Swann. Granted, there are some good parts to this movie, and there is plenty of action, but overall I was disappointed. Yes, go see the film, but don't expect it to be the same joyful, fun ride we had in the first Pirates. And, yes, they've left room for a Pirates 4 if "it makes good business sense."

Rent the dvd - Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End Reviews

At Worlds End was not a good movie. I saw this movie twice in hopes it would be better a second time. It didn't work. I became a huge pirates fan because of the second movie, but the third had absolutely no heart. It was all action and seemed as if the director was simply rushing through a moutain of plot-twists in order to resolve things from the second movie. How was this entertaining? It wasn't.

I was very excited, but am very disappointed - Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End Reviews

I am a fan of Pirates. I loved the first one, the second one took a second time around to love but now I do. Maybe I just have to see it again for it to all make sense. There were too many story lines throughout the entire movie. My 17 year old sister turned to me at the end and said "I couldn't follow that at all." There was too much Elizabeth for me. There wasn't enough Will. The character of Elizabeth is not even recognizable to the original character. I sat through the first half hour with my arms crossed very bored. I wasn't a fan of the part in Singapore and how it really didn't connect with the rest of the movie. Geoffrey Rush and Johnny Depp were amazing. Rush plays the perfect pirate as Barbosa. Jack is mostly his usual self, not as drunk as usual, like he said at one point "and that was all without one drop of rum." You can't really complain about any of the acting actually. There was just too much for the characters to take on which somewhat took a toll on the actors. There were many humerous parts. The movie had me laughing but it wasn't enough to bring me out of my disappointment and confusion of all of the stories. The action was great. It was good as usual. I am simply bothered by the ending. I can't get over it, it just bothers me. And not only how it is left open to a possible 4th installment. I hope there isn't. I don't want to have to sit through another 3 hour movie like this to be disappointed again, and I know I'd go again simply because I love the first two.

Misses the character. - Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End Reviews

The first movie was... surprising. The second was dark. The third one... is slightly bland. There is no way this franchise can be carried on to seven movies as rumors have said, I can tell you that. And it isn't because the lackluster ending, either, but because what the first and second movie teemed with (IE, the balance of plot, excellently developed characters, humor and action)is somewhat missing in this film. Not that this movie isn't enjoyable. It is; there's only, perhaps, ten minutes total of a nearly three-hour movie that accounts for dead film that isn't entertaining, amusing, or interesting. But what we miss in this movie is the actual extent of the characters we were so familiar with. Jack Sparrow isn't as... Sparrow-y in this installment with a little less of his spark. Will is not unrecognizable, but somewhat subdued, and there's just too much Elizabeth for my taste. Another unfortunate addition (actually, a lack thereof) to this film is a lot of back-story that the audience needs, but never receives. Much of Jack's new... (how on earth can I explain this without spoiling it for those who haven't watched it? I can't. *SPOILERS begin here*) Well, Jack's new habit of seeing himself everywhere is somewhat amusing, but why is that happening to him? All of William's, Jack's, and even Beckette's ulterior motives are shown, but at times there is too much deception and the audience is left guessing, wondering, and questioning. Not so much the "why", but the "how" and "...what?" * Spoilers are end here, dears. But it is not a bad movie. You will walk in, however, feeling conflicted, torn between joy and sadness because, after all this, it's over, but dang it you will finally learn how Barbossa managed to survive a bullet. Unfortunately... you will leave the film still feeling conflicted, with an open-ended conclusion that doesn't serve the characters justice, torn between joy of seeing the final installment, giggles, and yet wanting so much more. I think to fully enjoy this movie, do not walk in with expectations. Because alone, it is excellent, but At World's End doesn't hold the same standings as Dead Man's Chest or Curse of the Black Pearl.

Lets just say... - Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End Reviews

IT SUCKED that was the worst movie i have ever seen it had no point it left people confused and it just fell apart!!! it gave shame to the name pirates of the caribean!!!when i saw the first i thought that was awesome! i saw the second i thought it was alright and would get better but this one just needs to be the last!! it was so not worth the time and money i could have spent elsewhere!!!

Wished it was the world's end... - Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End Reviews

You know, if I asked my kid to put together a script to end this trilogy, i think he would have done a better job. Whoever checked the script should have thrown out the original and just started over. The movie lost me so many times that by the end of it I forgot where I was.

Worst film ever.. - Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End Reviews

I didn't think it would be possible to make a film worse than Pirates 2, but unfortunately it has been done. I loved the first film but loathed the second. Unfortunately all the weak points of the second are compounded here. Overly long with idiotic special effect sequences which do nothing to improve the assinine story. I want my 3 hours back.

40min. of good wrapped around 2hours of suck - Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End Reviews

THIS IS NOT A SPOILER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! first i have to say is that the first two were very good and i was looking forward to seeing the third one, that is untill i saw it. it was wayyyyy too long i mean come on have the directers ever heard of a little thing called editing?? also it was to gory and violent for a disney movie, i mean come on when i went to see it there was 6-10 yaer old kids in the theater and they had a little boy get hung in the movie and some guy take out his brain and lick it someone get shot in the head and a heart get stabed. did disney pay to not have it R??? i've seen R rated movies that werent that bad. also the plot was to busy its like they expect you to know what happend in the background when they werent filming. a nother thing is they probely expect you to have watched the first 2 secounds before you saw this one. im not saying the movie was utterly horrible because it had its moments and some funny parts but i was just expecting much more out of it. over all i would request seeing it with your friends so you can make fun of some of the corny and weird parts but i would what for it to come out on DVD.

Was it really that good? - Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End Reviews

The Pirates of the Carribean 3 was supposed to be made into a huge and amazing movie. This movie was ridiculous. I and a group of my friends attended the eight o' clock show. This movie was impossible to keep up with, very boring, and was way too long! I think it turned out to be one of those movies everyone thought was gonna be huge, but turned out to be a pretty crappy movie.

A crab-filled movie a total piece of crap - Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End Reviews

It's a total waste of time. The plot is silly and the gags are only funny to those in the movies. Such scenes as the seagoddess suddenly bulging and the two lovebirds smooching in the heat of the battle are so illogical that they made you cringe. Why are there so many crabs? Why do they symbolize? It's a torture to sit through the two and half hours.

At wit's end: blockbuster or blockheaded bomb? - Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End Reviews

This movie is by far the worst ever big franchise movie in the history of big franchise movies. What the hell were you thinking, Jerry? I know you try to make movies that turn every sprocket hole into a dollar, but this is the limit. Despite Pirates' budget, cast, special effects and hype, Disney/Bruckheimer company seem to have forgotten the basic rule that a film student learns in her first class - if there's no story, there's no movie. In this movie, Johnny Depp is fake, Orlando Bloom is overshadowed by too many other character, and Keira Knightly is too beautiful to be the Captain of a pirate ship. I'd like my money and my 147 minutes back, but I know what the producers' will say -- Take what you can, give nothing back".

Biased reviews - Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End Reviews

Trust me, the positive reviews of this movie are the result of viewers who loved the first two films so much that simply seeing Jack on screen again was going to draw positive reviews. Don't buy it. The visuals--makeup, costume, lighting, special effects, etc.--are fantastic. But it doesn't really matter when a film is so poorly written, poorly directed, and the actors are left to execute a horrible script. Johnny Depp needs to stop doing these films before they ruin his legacy as a great actor; I know, I know, he makes millions and millions of dollars from this film. The witty, snappy lines delivered in the first "Pirates" movie are long gone, replaced by lame one-liners and bop-you-on-the-head, guys-looking-up-a-skirt humor that a few 4th graders might like. And we know, by now, that it's entirely possible to write a funny movie that both adults and children can appreciate. (See most Pixar films.) This misses on both target groups. I can't even justify spending much time on this review. But I must point out how there are the film is 2.5 hours long, and should have been edited down to about an hour and a half. Extremely long scenes of dialogue, seemingly pointless exchanges between enemies for 15 minutes before going into battle, and tedious moments of forced romance will put moviegoers to sleep. See this movie when it comes on DVD, if you must see it at all. And if you still insist on going to the theater, take a good nap before you go, and load up on caffeine halfway through the film. Don't worry, you won't need or want anyone to fill you in on what you missed when you stepped out.

Truly mind numbing! - Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End Reviews

I am amazed at how many people say that this movie is awesome?! It was basically yelling and action scenes with no clear purpose flashing across the screen. (ADD anyone?) I really liked the first two movies and have been waiting for this one to come out. So my wife and I go and see it...it literally made my head hurt. I have an IQ of 135 and I could not follow the plot or the dialogue! There are so many twists and turns that make no sense that I can not even really list them all here. But I'll try. Like the movie starting in Singapore, then instantly changing scenes to the Carribean in less than 3 months. Like Davy Jones, Calypso, 9 pieces of eight, the Black Pearl, Will's dad, Jack Sparrow being in some trippy afterlife with stone crabs and many clones of himself, a giant Calypso-goddess roaring after the pirates "released" her from her earthly body...by now you get the point that this movie stinks! Really, really stinks! Like another reviewer, I found it impossible to keep from laughing out loud after the first 2 painful hours of this film. Truly the worst movie that I have seen in years. Please do not let one of these people talk you in to it! I am not a movie cynic who thinks that everything is terrible. This movie was.

Potc 3 - what were they thinking - Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End Reviews

This movie was so disappointing that I cannot believe it was even released. The plot felt like it was run through a shredded and then pieced back together. It should have stayed in the shredder. Several major sub-plots were left dangling, as if there were a team of writers and they never talked to each other. It was bad enough that POTC 2 had no ending, but to sit through almost three hours of drivel to go nowhere was horrid. The action sequences were not well shot or choreographed. Jump cuts were used, not to enhance the action, but to piece together random bits. The one decent fight sequence was so late in the movie and so poorly edited as to make it anti-climatic. Is the public so inured to video games that motion on the screen passes for theater. Giving Disney any more money to see this movie is an insult to good action movies and us, the public.

Pirates, plot devices and blathering - Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End Reviews

"Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End" is a three hour film that repeatedly loses focus, and seems spun out of a fantastic final fight sequence rather than composed as an even, balanced film. Again, the "Pirates" franchise can't seem to decide whether it wants to stick within its canon of believability or, like Captain Jack Sparrow, "make things up as they go along," as many things happen in this film exclusively for the plot to progress. Why is the East Indian Ink company not the least bit phased by the mere prospect of a real-life Davy Jones, complete with writhing tentacles? Why on sea would Davy Jones' menacing crew be caught dead (excuse the puns) in beautiful, clear sky weather? Mixing such fantastically drawn characters as Jones and his crew with such a benign and peaceful setting is poor direction, but fortunately, Verbinski doesn't err on this nearly as much as he did with Dead Man's Chest. As for Elizabeth and Will Turner's relationship- there's no energy, there's no spark, and frankly, I think the whole blimy lot of us would find Elizabeth and Jack Sparrow more compelling than the contrived co-existence the supposed star-crossed lovers share. Their "love story" slows the film down, and the attempt to parallel their love between Davy Jones' and Calypso is a stretch Mr. Fantastic wouldn't buy. What the film lacks in plausibility (even in the CGI-created suspended disbelief world), it makes for with remarkably beautiful scenes. Geoffrey Rush is dynamic as Barbosa, and great attention and creativity was given to one character's spectacular exit. The "Pirates" franchise has probably exceeded its own expectations, and is now charged with generating storylines that follow a seemingly improvised "contract" of rules/understanding with its viewers. If a fourth film does indeed happen, reeling in the plot would pay great dividends, as currently the storyline is dragging the Black Pearl down, down...

Well done and amazing - Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End Reviews

I am tired of people always trying to find a way to bash on a movie. I see that a few people and critics are saying that there was too much going on in this movie. Yet if it had been simple, without extensive development they would have said that it lacked substance. The fact is, this movie had great acting (Captain Jack was once again phenomenal), amazing special effects and a story that kept you engrossed right up until the credits. Anyone who says differently is just searching for a reason to be different by disagreeing with almost everyone who has seen it. This is one of my favorite movies and was immensely entertaining. If you are looking for a great movie to see, this is it.

It. was. amazing. - Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End Reviews

I loved it "much more better" than Dead Man's Chest, if that was even possible. This movie has a lot more genuine humor, with wisecracks coming at you left and right. Add that to the amazing special effects, the thundering score, and the characters that we've already grown to love - and you wind up with a HUGE winner. It is the most enjoyable movie I've ever seen in theaters, ever. Go see this movie - you will love it....and stay to the end of the credits for an additional scene.

The trilogy ends in disappointment - Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End Reviews

Even though the acting wasn't too bad and the visuals were abolutely phenomenal, the movie was not that great. If the second Pirates seemed a little bit confusing or if you never saw the second Pirates, then don't even waste your time on this one. There was no sense of direction. I sat through the first two hours saying "What the hell is going on?" Too many things were unexplained or explained very poorly. Random events would happen leaving you wonder "Why did I pay $20 and spend 3 hours of my life to see this?" There were too many jokes. Some were a little funny, but most of them made you roll your eyes. I don't want to completely dog my movie experience. The popcorn was good.

At world's end is great that's all u need to know! - Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End Reviews

In At World's End Elizabeth(Knightly) and Will Turner(Bloom) must team up with Captain Barbossa(Rush) in order to rescue Captain Jack Sparrow(Depp) from Davy Jones' Locker. Before they find Jack they must go to Singapore and get something from the well known Chinese Pirate Sao Feng(Fat). That turns out to be much harder than they thought because Cutler Beckett's men are all over the place looking for them. After they find Jack Sparrow and The Black Pearl in Davy Jones' Locker it's anything goes. Jack, Will and Elizabeth will do anything to get what they want and stay alive even if it means making a deal with Cutler Beckett. Davy Jones(Nighy) and Lord Cutler Beckett(Hollander) have formed an alliance after Davy Jones finds out that Beckett has his heart thanks to James Norrington(Davenport). Together they try to rule the 7 seas and wipe out the last of the no good Pirates. Well that's what they think anyway. Now Jack Sparrow, Captain Barbossa, Will Turner, Elizabeth Swann and the rest of the crew including Tia Delma, Gibbs, Ragetti and Pintel must call the Pirate Lords from the four corners of the globe to a gathering in order make their final stand against Cutler Beckett, Davy Jones, The Flying Dutchman and the East India Trading Company. This could be tough because Jack, Elizabeth and Barbossa will have to convince many pirate lords that they should fight when they are heavily outnumbered by Beckett, Jones and the rest of their crew. Jack, Will, Elizabeth, Barbossa and the rest of their crew will have to fight to their deaths to save the future of every last Pirate and do away with Davy Jones and The East India Trading Company for good. The battle at the end of the movie is an epic one with great visuals and cool sword fights so pay attention! This movie is hilarious people, but i would still say that Dead Man's Chest was my favorite of the 3 movies and that this one and the first movie would be tied for second. OH YEAH Make sure you stay until after the credits or you'll miss out on another important scene. Why Is The Rum Always Gone?

Are you kidding me? - Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End Reviews

What, am I watching "Eragon" again? There is absolutely no excuse for this movie--absolutely non! This movie is so bad, and so long, that after spending 2 hour and 10 minutes trying as hard as I could to like the movie, I just lost it, and started laughing at how bad the movie was. Trust me, it is truly horrible. This movie has many, many, many faults. The first flaw this movie has is it's running time of 2 hours and 50 minutes, almost 3 hours of nothing...no, seriously, it really is almost 3 hours of nothing. about 2 hours of the movie is spent with dull, boring, and non-important dialog. Dialog is usually a good thing for the "Pirates of the Caribbean movies, because it's usually funny and clever--not here; for some reason or another the viewers are made to listen to hours of pointless and boring conversations that no one really cares about. Another problem with the dialog was the fact that when they did say something that seemed important or cool, was wasted and never explained at the end of the movie. The characters were completely ruined, especially Jack Sperrow, who is transformed into a schizophrenia, and over and over again talks to his imaginary counterpart, which almost drove me mad. The story (as you can see above) was completely horrible, and laughable, which is a shame because "Dead Man's Chest", while not perfect, seemed to be going in a pretty cool direction. The battle scenes were about as pointless as an eraser, most were somewhat random, coming out of no where, and even worse, poorly choreographed, which reminded me of the battle scene in "Eragon". You see, "Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl" was fun, funny, witty, and filled with adventure. "At World's End" is just the opposite, and I give the director no excuse for this piece of crap! I know that Gore Verbinski is tons better than that, and this was just inexcusable, and defiantly on my "never-see-again list". Another thing that bugged me in the movie was the violence, and I'm not the one to usually complain about such things, but this is a "Disney" film, and there were women begin hung, and (on screen) shot in the head. Disney, Disney, Disney, what have you become? Fortunately we still have "The Curse of the Black Pearl", but because of "At World's End", "Dead Man's Chest" is completely ruined along with it. After all the two movies are connected.

A finale you can believe in - Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End Reviews

In 2003, "Curse of the Black Pearl" set the stage, the witty and charming little one-act that it could have been. Then last year's "Dead Man's Chest" (aka act two) challenged our singular, two-dimensional perceptions of the first film's characters and opened our minds to grander possibilities for Captain Jack and crew. It's been rough sailing for trilogy finishers lately. "Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith" crushed its chances at sci-fi perfection with a single one-word utterance from the series' central villain. "Spider-man 3" built your excitement up so high and then left you reaching for the screen, tugging at your own fleeting, crushed hopes. And we're still trying to pretend the blunders of Larry and Andy Wachowski didn't happen. So now all eyes fall on "Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End" to buck the trend and remind us why we stick with plot arcs longer than one, or even two movies. It's a tough crowd to entertain and a tremendous burden to bear. How does it fare? Its first and foremost victory is that it doesn't waste any time. After opening with a quiet, grimly attention-grabbing mass gallows scene, "Pirates" plunges, not unlike the ride, straight into the depths of the fabled far-eastern mecca of the series, Singapore. It keeps a steady pace throughout, never dragging even once. Next, it establishes a solid rhythm of audience laughter, clearly its second victory. This is a film that understands its audience's expectations so well that it knows not to take itself too seriously. Between the little eye-rolling giggles and the moments of uproarious hilarity the series is loved for, you'll never be overwhelmed by all the tension. For an almost three-hour movie, it's a great way to keep comfortable; and I'd be remiss to rob the series' chief source of comedy of his due credit. Jack's re-entry into the fray is utterly flawless, a mind-boggling scene that reminds us why we'll always love to watch Depp's stumbling, bumbling pirate alter-ego no matter how long he's on screen by himself (if you can really call it "by himself"). In fact, the first hour of the film is plot resolution from film two, but instead of making a drag out of all the details, this movie has so much fun with it that you just don't notice until, all of a sudden, some of the hints that were dropped in the previous picture get blown wide open and you realize that one of the major new forces introduced, perhaps a villain, is actually an existing character. What makes it work so beautifully is that since the true identity of said character is not discussed or even mentioned until this movie, you saw it coming, but you didn't at the same time. And as all the pivotal moments of "At World's End" pass by your eyes, somewhere along the way you realize that the movie is working. An incredibly heavy sacrifice Will must make to keep a promise, a heart-wrenching discovery by Elizabeth amidst the weird and haunted shoals (magnificently acted, I might add), a stirring and inspirational speech from a character you wouldn't expect, witnessing the true face of Davy Jones, if only for a moment, and a kiss lasting more than five seconds that actually won't make you wish it would just be over with. You'll be watching all this and you'll be wondering how long the movie can keep it up. You'll think you know how it all ends, and you'll already be loving where you think it's going, and then all of a sudden, everything will stop. You'll stare in disbelief as your preconceived notions vanish before your eyes. Then you'll continue to stare as the plot winds down from its climax, and slowly begin to realize that "At World's End" has succeeded; it raised your hopes, stirred your soul up to the boiling point, and then didn't let you down. It's the big picture, the culmination of the greater possibilities that "Dead Man's Chest" left you hoping for. It's a complex tale of betrayal, sacrifice, and honor. Well, as much honor as a pirate's got, which in Jack Sparrow's case... happens to be more than you might expect. They even get the ending just right. Go see it, and as you drive and then as you take your seats, rest assured that it's okay to have high expectations. They'll be met this time. ...PS. Stay through the credits.

Pirates rocks to death.. go and see it. ...now - Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End Reviews

Okay, I JUST GOT BACK FROM the premier night at 8 pm at AMC Theater's special presentation of Pirates of the Caribbean 3: At World's End. To quickly brief you guys what happened, I have to say that this movie is beyond believability, it was incredible in terms if everything plots, actors, costumes... The storyline can be shortened down like this: EIC, which has the heart of Davy Jones since the last pirates movie is now gaining power and threaten Davy himself to cooperate. Will and Elizabeth Turner along with Captain Barbossa in the meanwhile gather together with the Pirates of Singapore to get a crew and a ship to go and find Johnny Depp who is now in Davy Jones 's locker ( if you are known with the last movie: Sparrow was eaten by the octopus) . They are lucky and also unlucky to fall over the waterfall (but no one dies) and come right to where Sparrow is. Jack Sparrow is on an island with the Black Pearl and trying to find to get the ship, which is stuck in the sand, back to the sea with the help of well, stone craps...After Jack is rescued, he and Barbossa start to compete each other for the leadership of the Black Pearl. The reason Will is on the mission is because he wants to keep his promise and set his father, who is slave on the Flying Dutchman free. The lord of Singapore pirates then turns the table and makes Swann to be his wife. After the pirates of Singapore are attacked by the Flying Dutchman, Swann (Keira Knightley) is made the captain. But they are all put into jails of the Flying Dutchman. James, who used to propose Swann in the 1st pirates movie, helps all of them to get free and then is killed by Bootstraps. Swann, now the captain, goes to the conference of pirates where the crew of the Black Pearl is already there negotiating with other pirates captain. She is then made king on an election (because each of the captain votes for himself, only Sparrow votes for Swann, so she gets 2 votes). Then the battle between two forces is settled. The one side includes Barbossa, Jack Sparrow, Will Turner, and Swann. The opponents are the EIC along with Davy Jones. Barbossa wants to free Calypso, the lover of Davy Jones, which finally fails. The most amazing scene is the maelstrom. Jack is still a prisoner on the Flying Dutch man, but he manages to escape and got Davy's heart. The Black Pearl and the Flying Dutchman fight each other. Will asks Swann to marry and Barbossa acts for them. The scene that makes me cry is when Davy kills Will .But right after that, jack stabs Davy's heart. Will, who is dead, is made the captain, since the Flying Dutchman has to have a captain. When the ship of EIC comes to battle the Black Pearl after the Flying Dutchman is destroyed and eaten by the maelstrom, the Flying Dutchman suddenly resurface with Will as the immortal captain. The battle turns to the favor of Jack sparrow side. Yeah, I basically just wrote down quickly the main story lines of the movie. It is much better than this, trust me. It is amazing. The love between Will and Swann is unbelievable, though there are times when they distrust each other. The love of Davy Jones too is revealed and his longtime-ago handsome face also makes an appearance in this movie. The visual effects are stunning just like the previous two movies. The maelstrom is very real and frightening. The costumes are very well designed too. The makeup and pirates are ever more disgusting... (Just to mention the Chinese pirate). This movie can not be successful without the stunningly bright actors. Johnny Depp has never been better, showing his emotions when Will is dead, not just a funny jerk like the Dead Man's Chest. Will and Swann are challenged by their love and both Orland and Keira play very good jobs at portraying lovers separated by battles and pirates (aye). Chow Yun fat doesn't play a very important role and so is not considered major. Bill Nighy, who plays Davy Jones, is very good as well. Briefly, this is one of the movies of a lifetime. Jerry Bruckheimer never fails. Just go and watch it and try to understand everything. And I do not think you should watch this I you haven't seen the previous two movies because the storyline and entangled and complicated. THIS MOVIE IS AMAZING, TRUST ME... GO AND SEE IT.

And the oscar goes to... johnny depp - Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End Reviews

Okay, Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End. It was a vivid eye candy buffet. Will Turner (Orlando Bloom), Elizabeth Swann (Keira Knightley) come together once again with Captain Barbossa (Geoffrey Rush) to free Captain Jack Sparrow (Johnny Depp) from his capture in Davy Jones' locker, they go to Singapore and confront the Chinese Pirate Sao Feng (Chow Yun-Fat). And the ultimate battle begins. This movie picks right up, no lag time, non stop action from start to credits. Plus, it has the most climatic battle scenes ever. This chapter also lets go of some of the comedy for a darker feel and that made it more realistic for me, but what I loved the most was the acting of Johnny Depp, Geoffrey Rush, Naomie Harris, Chow Yun-Fat and Bill Nighy. They made the movie believeable and so much fun to watch. This movie is easily the best of the trilogy.

Not yet the end for sparrow - Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End Reviews

That Captain Jack Sparrow didn't appear in the movie's first fifteen minutes, this movie - the third part of the Pirates of the Caribbean multi-million franchise - already gets one star. That Jack Sparrow's appearance, later on, is a grand entrance deserving of any celebrity pirate - doing his first (among a series of) "Sparrow monologues" (or do I call it "moment"?) - this movie earns its second star. Nevermind that we see all of them again here: Will Turner (Orlando Bloom); Elizabeth Swann (Keira Knightley); Captain Barbossa (Geoffrey Rush); Davy Jones (Bill Nighy); Lord Beckett (Tom Hollander); Bill Turner (Stellan Skarsgard); Governor Swann (Jonathan Pryce); Tia Darma (Naomi Harris); and the rest of the Black Pearl Crew. We all know very well that they will all do their jobs well. Since this two hour and forty-five minute movie boasts of a big gathering of pirates, we see new faces: Captain Sao Feng (Chow Yun Fat); the rest of the Pirates and a brief appearance by Rolling Stone Keith Richards as Captain Teague. There are new gimmicks too: pebble crabs; an upside down ship; a maelstrom; pirates ships; and more pirate ships! With all these offerings, "At World's End" is no doubt a summer fare - one that doubled its spendings to quadruple its earnings. With the huge budget and all the gimmicks, how can you even say that your cinema ticket isn't worth it. But despite the elements in place and the barrage of CGI sequences, director Gore Verbinski cannot avoid the dangling flaws that this huge ship has brought along. The "blah-blah-blah" festival was still retained from the boring second part but are scattered in between action sequences and other visual surprises. Twists for its own sake are again lurking around the storylines but majority of it we can forgive. Verbinski is a pirate. He knows his mistakes and compensates them with guilty pleasures. The action scenes here are better than the first two most especially the part when Sparrow and Jones are both fighting for the possession of the chest (the heart remember?) and its key. Swashbuckling indeed! And Johnny Depp? Fans and skeptics will not be disappointed. (There's your third star!) Writers for this franchise wrote the script with him in mind. Period. So we get so much of him here. If you can't contend yourself to one, there's more of Sparrow here. (Perhaps you have heard of the movie 'Multiplicity'). For all the "over-talking" and old antics the Jack Sparrow way, there is a tendency for audiences to get tired of it. But Depp is in control and, as always, he has proven to all of us that no matter how much they cram this franchise up with hundreds of characters, he is still the star of the show. If that's not talent then I have no idea what it is. So, yes, Jack Sparrow is still captain of this ship. Rating: B-

3 hours of cinematic garbage - Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End Reviews

What is wrong with everyone reviewing these? The movie is unbearably long, the plot (or should I say, the ten thousand sub-plots) are incoherent and convoluted, and the late action and special effects don't make up for it. I don't understand why there was a need to try and continue the series past the first movie. The first movie was great, and it was excellent by itself. The second and third destroyed all the greatness and character development and charm of the first.

Drink up me hearties yo-ho!! - Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End Reviews

Just came back from an advanced screening of POTC At world's end, and i gotta say it blew me away! Totally went well beyond my expectations. Everything from the story, the acting, the visuals and the directing was amazing. I was happy to see Keith Richards as Sparrow's dad, but only problem is that he only appears for like 5 minutes. This is by far the most violent, darkest and saddest film of the trilogy. ANd also the best Pirates movie ever. The first 20 minutes of the movie is a non-stop action ride. the movie decreases in action then on but catches on at the end, by the last 30 minutes or so, in what is one of the biggest action scenes ever.(only 300 is better. Everyone from Jack to Jack the monkey are fighting here, fighting there. Very well done. I think that this is the funniest film of all the three. Every character(and i mean everyone) has a funny line.If this is really the last chapter of the POTC franchise, then what a heck of an end it is. Two thumbs up for this movie. It deserves it.

Pirates of the caribbean: at world's end - Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End Reviews

The overall feeling about this movie: it was good. I think what spoiled it a little was that it was a movie number three, after all, and it's hard to invent something new and at the same time keep all the invented before. In the first movie, it was all brand new and funny. Now there are mostly old characters doing the old stuff : Englishmen are arrogant and drink tea as often as they can, Elisabeth is brave, Will is in love, Sparrow is funny, the one-eyed pirate and his friend do silly things, the monkey is cute, and everybody tend to betray everybody else... There were some new characters, too, which made the movie more a) interesting b) difficult to follow. I found it hard to follow the script, to tell the truth. Maybe it's just me. The script had surprises, and the ending was quite unpredictable. (The only predictable thing was that there will, probably, be a movie number four...) The first part was a bit slow. After half an hour into the movie, Captain Jack Sparrow and his multiple personalities have arrived, bringing some laughs. There were some good new jokes, too, along with the old ones. But overall, the movie seemed darker than the previous ones, with more pathos and drama, and some unpredictable characters developments...The second part of the movie was more dynamic, with battles, beautiful shots and visuals. Though the movie was pretty long, it didn't feel so, because the ending was full of action. People in the cinema applauded in the end of the movie, so, I think most of them liked it more than I did. I just had a feeling that most of it I saw before. But it was a good pirates movie, especially it's second part. And it had Johnny Depp in it. (Going out of the theater, I heard people talking: "Oh, he's such a great actor!!" - so, he seemed to make it again..) It's worth seeing, anyway!

Stay till the end? - Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End Reviews

Well... I just got out of the 8:25pm showing and what do I have to say... The movie was GREAT!!! The visual effects were superb and storyline was well thought out... If one is reading reviews to find comparison to the first two films I feel that this movie was hard to compare. This third installment had more visuals, better plots, better fight scenes and even a little sappy love thrown in for the sensitive ones of there. One thing that really surprises me was some of the more "sexy" scenes! Yeah... That is right - I said 'sexy' which is something new in these films and interesting for a Disney flick... I assure you in the end you will be very pleased with watching this film and I will leave you with one piece of advice... "STAY TILL THE END!" ;-)

Pirates of the caribbean: at world's end - Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End Reviews

I went to the cinema that day to watch At World's End, expecting to watch the same Pirates style that we are used to from the previous two movies. Obviously, I have underestimated this movie. It was nothing like I have expected. So here's the basic story of the movie (no major spoilers here): The movie starts from where we left off last time. Captain Barbossa is resurrected to help Will, Elizabeth and the others to bring Jack Sparrow back from Davy Jones Locker. Meanwhile, Lord Cutler Beckett continues to execute pirates and says that they now face extinction. Cutler, having obtained the heart of Davy Jones, forces the Flying Dutchman to work for him, killing the remaining pirates at sea. Now the pirates from all the seven seas must stand together against Cutler and Jones before they start to fall one by one. The movie ends in a climactic battle at a giant maelstrom where the fate of each character is decided there. Generally, the movie this time is much darker than the previous ones. There's less comedy, less visuals but more drama and a much more complicated storyline. Story-wise, the movie doesn't merely tell a fictional legend about ghosts and treasures like the previous Pirates movies. It's more about different people standing together and facing their common enemy no matter what the consequences are. Some may find this change from the previous films annoying, but in my opinion, I think it gives the movie a more realistic feeling and the dark atmosphere of the story doesn't make us feel as safe as in previous movies, where we knew that all characters were going to live in the end. Surprisingly, some characters become darker, while some others tend to become more human and there's no way you can predict how the story goes. The direction is great. Although the movie stood at almost three hours, there was not a boring moment (unlike Jackson's King Kong, which could have been much better with more editing). I am happy that the director didn't just edit the hell out of the movie to make it shorter to satisfy more audience. I mean come on, this is the end of the trilogy, it HAS to be long. I have become a fan of Gore Verbinsky now! The best thing in this movie is cinematography. You can notice how the camera works in a spectacular way throughout the movie. The camera even plays a major character in certain scenes. Personally, I liked how the whole waterfall scene was shot, and there was this view, just before the waterfall scene, where the ship was sailing through dark water in a sky full of stars...this was just one of the best images of the movie for me. A rather "disturbing" scene was when Jack Sparrow gets off his ship to find himself in the middle of a desert. It was just how the camera captured the emptiness of the place, and the rather subtle music in the background, that made this scene the most disturbing for me. The acting this time is more than fascinating. By now, we are all accustomed to the fact that Johnny Depp makes a funny entrance at the beginning of each movie of the franchise. Well, this time his entrance is unlike anything you've seen before. I don't want to spoil it for you, you just have to go and see it for yourself! Johnny Depp, as usual, delivers a performance that really shows how special an actor he is. But this time, I was surprised by how great the acting of some other characters was: Geoffrey Rush (Hektor Barbossa) makes every scene that he appears in very special. Also Tom Hollander (Cutler Beckett) gets a bigger screen time this movie and delivers a great performance as one of the main antagonists. Most noticably, Hans Zimmer takes a giant leap in this movie to compose a score that doesn't fail the epic proportions of the movie. Although I thought that the score for Dead Man's Chest didn't meet my expectations after what I've heard in The Curse of the Black Pearl, the music in this movie is the best so far, with a lot of new themes that really bring the movie to life. So in conclusion, this movie is, in my opinion, the best in the franchise so far, although I don't think that it will be met with the same admiration by everyone. Don't go expecting to watch some computer-generated effects and have a few laughs (for that, you can go watch Spider-man 3). You should go expecting a much darker movie, a complicated storyline (go revise the previous two movies before watching this one) and rather some disturbing scenes. But you SHOULD go. You don't want to miss a movie like this. I am really satisfied with this movie and the way it has changed from the previous ones. I am expecting it to recieve an oscar for best cinematography, best screen play, best actor (Johnny Depp) and maybe even best supporting actor going to Geoffrey Rush or Tom Hollander. I think it may also win some technical awards such as best costume design, best make up, best art direction and set decoration, best sound editing but not best visual effects though (I think that will go to Spider-man 3), and unless someone makes a much stronger score this year, Hans Zimmer may win his first Oscar since The Lion King! A 10/10 for this amazing masterpiece.

A regular guy's opinion - Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End Reviews

Ok so i won't talk about things like the editing of the film or the screenplay because I don't even know what that is and probably you don't either so I will talk about the most important thigs you need to actually enjoy the movie because that is why you pay right? Oh yeah and don't be afraid to read this because I wont spoil anything. Lets begin then. First of all every character you love is there again. The movie is totally unpredictable. You really don't know what is going to hapen next. And if you loved the sense of humor of the other 2, belive me, you wont be disappointed. I know the movie is long but there is not a single boring moment in it. You will love every minute of it. The action sequences are amazing. All the sets are breathtaking. You will actually get sucked into the pirate's world belive me. There are parts of the movie when you actually feel like you are on the actual ride. I mean this movie has everything you're hoping to see in a movie. This is the best movie I have seen in years. Just go see it and I know you wont be disappointed.
